The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 这故事情节确实是有点意思啊，不得不说日影真的很会讲故事，把漫画和现实世界相结合，虚虚实实，假假真真，把观众也给耍的团团转，最后还有一个巧妙的大反转，也有些猝不及防。也算是给渣男老公的最大回礼吧，他值得。整体来说，还不错，故事引人入胜，层层递进，可以一看。

水生金刚，萌版白鲸，这样的创意原本不过不失，可偏偏要再上一层价值，侈谈历史叙述这样的宏大议题，结果就是剧情的短板暴露无疑——编剧似乎很想让观众认同于小女孩的阴谋论猜想，但他们显然忘了，质疑某种表述是一回事，推翻它却是另一回事。后者需要在故事发展中给出更多的证据，而不只是靠建立一套对抗性的叙事。更有意味的是，当这套叙事被像真理一样公之于世，编剧让反派问：你有什么权利？接着主人公掷地有声道：我完全有权利！——至此，信念代替了事实，对历史真相的探索被匆忙偷换为对话语权力的争夺。我想，这恐怕不只是本片的问题，亦是时代病症的缩影。
悬念是有做到的，几次都在不断加强铺垫，让人非常想知道答案，而且做得还算是自然，对“Sensei”的多义应用得很好，只是我老记不住是让老师坐我旁边还是我坐老师旁边……男主居然是安藤樱的老公，两人真的挺有夫妻相的。就是觉得片子节奏有点慢了，中间都让我倍速了一阵（看电影很少有的）而且驾校教练也不是我喜欢的类型（最后一刻居然还有点魅力，平时都有点呆），倒是黑木华好好看啊，喜欢看她下定决心的样子。
这种故事会级别的反转……我究竟在期待什么？也就两个演员可以夸一夸，剩下的实在是，乏善可陈到令人无语。

亦真亦幻，真假难辨。可以，plastic love太切题了！
有些奇怪的观影感受，延续到最后一刻。一个人是有权利不原谅另一个人的。一个人最大的报复是：让对方知道自己过得有多好。
小红小蓝好可爱！剧情和建模有瑕疵，但是总体还是很惊喜的～
这部电影无论是漫画情节的运用，还是演员那极度匹配二次元风格的表演，抑或留白得很中二的剧情设计，看起来真的是太舒服了。
所以，你出轨了吗？所以，你原谅吗？所以，虚构 or 非虚构？太迟了。男人一副死猪不怕开水烫，又没被抓包出轨，这个时候当然说没有了。复仇，终了。我考虑一下。注意前后左右安全，松开手刹，换D档，轻踩油门。佐和子终于掌握了人生的方向盘。
红兽=中国，故事书=媒体，闭关洗脑的漂亮族，好像都对得上。不知编剧什么背景，有点反向洗脑的意思了
对比「驯龙高手」不能说相似，只能说「一模一样」。从复仇到和解的故事，探讨的依然是人类与自然生物的和谐共存，影射的照旧是统治者的「政治手段」与「别有用心」。技术上四平八稳，内容上虽鲜有创新但重新感动一下也蛮好。BUG倒是可以忽略了，毕竟动画电影不严谨是Netflix的「老毛病」，别较真就好了。
结尾真不错！！！华妹和柄本佑我都好喜欢，奈绪也很逗，金子没出来多久但是也好温柔嘤嘤嘤。男主渣是真渣啊，不过这种反击我真的是太喜欢了，虚晃一下，太爽了。
我竟然带着对《海贼王》番外的期望开始了这部电影。。
8分，不要人云亦云，要独立思考，且对自然充满敬畏与好奇。中国的儿童尤其需要这样的电影。
