The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 有段时间没有看过这种较为优秀的纯剧情小空间小制作片子了，剧本还算挺扎实，重点是从毫无波澜到最后如何步步推进，还有如何收尾，能做到有看点有起伏没bug且不蠢，在现在来看已经是很难得了
电影的前半部分直到女主角在车内发现小女孩，悬疑感一直在线，之后似乎编剧突发腹泻，剧情急转直下。
女主很在线，脑子很清楚，这件事告诉我们，不要相信陌生人。后半截节奏乱了，有些拖沓。
很久没看到女主智商都在线的电影了，虽然桥段设置巧合太多，有点略微bug，但是女主的行为符合逻辑就证明是部好片子。
故事普普通通，但拍的不错，本来比较平的故事拍出了一定的转折跌宕，人物行为逻辑也基本合理，整体完成度可以，这剧本上限就不高，也就拍成这意思了。再有，好莱坞电影中有亚裔角色的不计其数，但难得有这么一部用亚洲面孔做主角的。
7分吧。虽然剧情和动作都跟闹着玩似的，不过还挺欢乐的，
挺简单的情节，拍的能让人看下去，还可以，除了最后面的警察和女主的故意失败外其他挺好。
套路满满的爆米花，但还算及格。同意郭达的观点，这片拍成r级会有更多可能性，拳馆长镜头变成屠杀也许能复刻王牌保镖的成功~
有点你丫闭嘴的感觉，欢快的两小时、剧情吸引人、节奏快、动作不浮夸。有点意思

还行吧，剧情进展有条有序，演员演技也过关，小成本复仇片
人有点儿少，生命力也不强，主要靠节奏，但又稍显拖沓
这种密闭空间惊悚悬疑题材却没拍出什么新意，不管是故事推动还是人物行为，都各种套路，总之为了制造悬念感觉所有的人都不正常，最后又来个典型的反派死于话多……
反转不断，后半段剧情起来终于有点看头。女主演技不错~
勒戒出逃寻老母，吹牛牌局猜悍匪，富贵熊娃欺劳工，老兵躺平能杀人，手枪钉枪螺丝批，雪山凶宅大火烧……蛮有诚意的低成本反杀脱逃片，亚籍大女主形象也算少见
小成本电影，但编剧扎实，暴风雪营造出的封闭空间，限定人群中的犯罪博弈，设定棒，细节丰富，合乎逻辑，只是惊悚紧迫的氛围没那么强，中规中矩之作，3.5⭐。
第一个赞叹是猜疑谁是凶手，既有怀疑推敲又不过度拖慢节奏。尤其是知道有两个人贩子时，还是非常震惊的。
欧美电影难得有个亚裔妹子当主角并且演技还可以，剧情也还算抓人，短小精悍，人物逻辑性更强点就更棒了
还不错，挺紧张的不过有些不合理，女主好勇敢，样子很耐看，如果我是她可能就报警之后藏起来了
