The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 所有的英文字幕里都没有she或者her，全是Ming，他们去到音乐节，拍到一大张Ming的海报，也没拍海报上的人，张子枫有点错愕，这个时候吴磊对张子枫说：现在你欠我一个秘密了。张子枫爹妈知道他们一起去玩，非常担心吴磊会不会对张子枫做什么，然后吴磊家爹非常肯定地说：我家郑宇星不会对你家陈辰做什么的。种种细节很难不让人理解为MING是个男生，当然是男生更好。 导演说的话对于作品解读并没有权威性，作品一旦形成就脱离了作者，托尔斯泰还觉得安娜是个道德败坏者呢，别再用导演说这不是同志片来否认里面暗含的同性情感了，就算能否认一部电影，也无法否认同性情感的普遍存在。
喜欢这种在危险的边缘试探的电影，完美逃过老干部们的老花眼。
因为隐晦的表达了同性元素，在大陆公映显得特别了一点，仅此而已。即便放开了相关限制，放手给陈正道拍，仍然是不痛不痒的剧本，毫无风格的又一部国产平庸青春片。
剧本还可以，有新意，但陈正道就是个二流导演，拍得一般。而且，诸公所说的规避审查，小聪明而已，不至于。还和《少年的你》比呢，差得太远了。故事没必要放在高考背景下。
除了吴磊演技差外，导演的擦边球更让人不舒服。。

张子枫和吴磊的对手戏几乎贯穿始终，我回想每一场戏，都是“对的”，几乎完全准确，年轻演员完全没有任何“失误”'或者拉胯，张子枫一直有表演实力，特别特别好，吴磊也能“棋逢对手”，不只是帅，这对我就是意料之外了，是真不了解他，没看过他任何戏。。。
朋友没法去，把点映票让给我了，发现有郝蕾祖峰还是挺感兴趣的。看完之后，两位老师不愧是老戏骨，很喜欢他俩的对手戏，不管在任何年纪都有追逐爱的权利，这也是另一种“青春”的体现。
女主，过审工具人🚬妹妹答应我，以后别再当过审规则里的“同妻”了，好吗😤
心目中近两年华语coming-of-age最佳，人物立体，演员演得也好。吴磊好像有点开窍了，他落泪的几场戏展现出的脆弱非常迷人，张子枫也是她那个角色的不二选择，能用生活化的方式说出略带矫情的点题台词。导演说年少时会不由自主爱上自己想成为的人，Ming对于xyz就是这样。打电话打不通又换座机打，这样的事我做过。愿我拥有坦诚面对自己的勇气和智慧。青春万岁。
大多初恋都无疾而终，大家说郑宇星渣，我反而觉得有的时候氛围到了就亲上了。
缓了十天终于有了足够的能量说服自己出门看电影，原本只想看看帅哥美女，看看青春肉体，没预期会看得失魂落魄。不是「她」的MING，意指可能是太阳下的秘密，可能是存在却被透明，可能是期待明天的光明，未来的盛夏，盛夏未到来。同样的厦门，同样的爱而不得，同样从难以接受到学会接受并与之和平共处，只是十几年过去我从没敢诚实告白过，如今却在经历右耳听力下降。神伤地看完片尾，哭了但并不大声，到影院楼下点了碗烧仙草以求寻得一点熟悉味道的慰藉最终也是囫囵无味，十天里积攒出的能量好像全被耗尽，回到家一头扎进床里。还好睡觉能拯救（我的）一切，还好记起来的总会再淡忘。

Z 世代电影，靠电子的喧嚣来忘记烦恼。银幕内外的人共同唤起手机 Siri。竖屏抖音占领画幅，观众也没有施舍目光从小荧屏移向大银幕，或许这才是卑微的「暗恋」。
笑点泪点齐飞的一部电影，子枫妹妹和吴磊的演技都好好啊，好有高中生的青春感啊，最后电影的主题也蛮好的，教人学会释怀！
第一次聽《擁抱》是在《盛夏光年》，最近一次是在《盛夏未來》，那時候，康正行可以對余守恆說他愛他，而鄭宇星的MING卻只能在字幕上配上「她」。15年，「長日的假面」從脫下到戴上，「夢幻的疆界」屬於彼岸，此岸依舊是荒野。
我喜欢暗恋，也喜欢张扬的爱意。昨天太近，明天太远。每当风起，我这片沙丘如何不吹向你。
故事还蛮喜欢的，就是有些地方有点尴尬。吴磊成年以后下半张脸好奇怪啊！男演员鼻子太丑特写真的灾难…
想起扎扎那部也和电音有关的《我们是你的朋友》了，都六年了。青春的定义以及青春电影的终极奥义是让每个人都真切地活着，感知这个人生阶段的百味；无从转向的暗恋秘密，身处交叉口间的生活抉择…比一见钟情更宝贵的东西，还有太多太多。最后收尾如若能更自然，会更加出彩；但尽可能减轻了狗血吵架当佐料，也显难得。（讲真这几年不知道被折腾干了什么的）吴磊终于有了合适的角色赋予，忍不住下了抖音是我破功。【映前“好配”“好磕”“好甜”的八婆式营销堪称猪队友，有碍观瞻也着实消费两个演员的好感；还好成片有争气。】
