The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 我大青岛简直美呆了！当家乡的宣传片看满分哦！导演抖音快手刷多了吧？拍个电影这么赶时间吗？天呐噜，从童年到青年到中年到老年，我管你是不是幻想意淫出来的桥段，你把科研工作者想象成阿甘我能理解，想象成岩井俊二我也忍了，最不能理解的是还想象成妄想家，这不是尊重科学，这是在白日做梦！不过该怎么说，青岛和干细胞宣传片做得还不错！值得鼓励！
中间那一段医学故事真的很突兀，全片也真的很感人，但对本人而言，缺失一个真正能打动人的细节
感觉算是国产片中不错的了，台词有内容，剧情也不拖沓。整体脉络和精神气像少年时候读的七堇年的蓝颜。
看到中途想着月底前搞一针儿干细胞打打，是不是还来得及，看过结尾后突然觉得duck不必了，永葆青春不老不死如果不是个广普技术，那也太可怜了。
其实从开头到出国那一段我真的觉得挺好的，除了画面的卡顿感、抖动感和掉帧感让我有点难受之外，我都很喜欢，剧情从出了国之后开始跑偏了，如果直接发现永生干细胞，并且结局和丁萌萌在一起都比这个结局好太多，编剧为了让郭小鲁体会孤独，让他周围的亲人和爱人全部写死，并且强行深刻，探讨生死，把事情搞复杂，就彻底将故事讲烂了。
文不对题的电影，故事很吸引我，虽然有些部分过于drama。王珞丹好适合这类角色，加一星给她！
评分感觉低了，确实有点阿甘的意思，男主人设就是老老实实又天赋异禀的意思，最后点题不错，如果，记忆没有了，不老还有什么意义
看了一半，发现两人的关系这不是阿甘正传吗？不戴眼镜的王传君看着挺奇怪的；为了王珞丹+1星，各种风情，尽显魅力；可惜剧情又臭又长。

干细胞有点太扯了，我以为他会老老实实成为一个好的外科医生。
还是那个熟悉的王朔配方，永远回不去的久远时光，至死都想抓住，看完像经历了整场人生...

2021.12.12 旁白多到都能凑出一部广播剧了，你说我是看电影呢，还是听电影呢？反正我是真的讨厌王朔。
你还不如直接说跟看见慢动作一样，达到了“不老”，居然这么科学的去造干细胞……所谓的“爱情”，更像是编剧一厢情愿的认为：自己念念不忘的人，在老了或者出事的时候，会回过头来找自己的。
原本可以成为一个很好的爱情电影。结果不知道这片子想干嘛，很分裂。去非洲更是莫名其妙…
不知为什么，特别喜欢这部电影，从两小无猜，到两个命运不同的人生轨迹，直到后来如奇幻般的命运挣扎。“他好的时候，我不用在。”这是需要多么了解一个人，才能说出这句话来。
剧本太差了，可惜了好演员，科学讲不清，爱情断断续续，虐心且无聊，差评了
